Prachi’s life prior to joining Deeds Junior College was that of a girl who would feel alientaed, lacked confidence and was unable to make friends due to her hearing imapirement. But all this changed when Prachi joined Deeds and the magic of transformation began when she for the first time met teachers who were themselves with hearing disability. Watching and learning from her deaf teachers and surrounded with students with similar disability, changed Prachi’s perspective about her deaf-ness. Soon this introvert and shy girl from a simple middle class family background, with the sup-port from her teachers and counsellors at Deeds Junior College was not only making progress in ac-ademics and communication skills in English language but also overcame her shortcoming as a deaf person and became more confident and positve person who is always ready to accept responsibilities.
