DEEDS Public Charitable was officially registered under charity commissioner in Mumbai as an umbrella organization to help the deaf in India.
Setting up Workshop Units & Skill Training
- Various professional skill training workshops and Indian Sign Language workshops were organized for the deaf around Mumbai.
- A watch strapping unit in Dehradun in collaboration with Titan.
Basic English Literacy Course
- The Basic English Literacy Course (BELC) was introduced in a 17 Special schools for the Deaf.
- DEEDS started supporting deaf to learn computer skills through Noida Deaf Society in Delhi.
Computer Learning Centers in Deaf Schools
- DEEDS sets up several computer learning centers in deaf schools around Mumbai.
- DEEDS sets up a Tailoring unit in a Deaf School in Mumbai.
‘The Quest’ a novel quiz for deaf & Tailoring unit in Mumbai
- DEEDS set up its own DEEDS Tailoring Unit for Deaf Women.
- DEEDS specially designed a quiz competition for the deaf called ‘The Quest’ whose participants were deaf schools all around Mumbai.
- Deaf Students participated in art workshop with Baz Lurhmann, Director of ‘The Great Gatsby’ movie, and Vincent Fantauzzo, an award-winning Australian artist.
Mumbai Marathon & Art Auction
- Our corporate partners participated in the Mumbai Marathon to raise awareness & funds for DEEDS.

- With DEEDS efforts, Jet Airways took deaf children from Mumbai to Pune for children’s day.
Computer skills training in Noida
419 Deaf youth were trained computer skills in collaboration with Noida Deaf Society, with its knowledge partner NIIT.
Relief Program in Mumbai, Kashmir & Vizag
DEEDS extended its arm to provide relief for those affected by the floods in Kashmir and cyclone in Vizag.
Hostel in Dehradun & DEEDS Junior College in Mumbai
- DEEDS inaugurates its hostel in Dehradun for deaf boys across India to receive schooling from BIL.
- The DEEDS Junior College for Commerce was started in Mumbai, our first step towards higher education.
Work Readiness Program & Smart Learning in Dehradun
- Introduced the Work Readiness Program to prepare deaf youth for the work environment.

DEEDS new Learning and Resource Centre
DEEDS new Learning and Resource Centre was inaugurated in February. The proposed new centre will have 350 – 375 students attending their Junior and Degree College and various vocational and skill development courses monthly.
