I am Danish, a final year student of Bachelor of Arts. I hail from Bihar and learnt about Deeds Basic English Literacy Course (BELC) via a Whatsapp advertisement. I joined the BLEC to learn English. Being Deaf, I could only communicate using Whatsapp and lack of English knowledge made it difficult for me to write properly. After I completed the course, my English writing skill has improved. Now I can also communicate with other people through WhatsApp and messages. I am happy that I am finally able to properly put across my thoughts through messages. My teachers at DEEDS were very patient and supportive throughout the course. I am still brushing up daily on my English grammar. I have encouraged my other Deaf friends too to enroll with DEEDS BLEC programs. Some of my deaf friends too have joined BELC in Deeds. I am happy for them.
